Internationally recognized leader on counterterrorism, travel safety, dignitary protection and school security. He is the Founder and President of Direct Measures International and oversees all aspects of company operations worldwide. Mr. Stivi, is also the president and founder of ACT Cert (Attack Countermeasures Training Certification), offering the most comprehensive online school security certification program in the world.

Mr. Stivi taught close combat tactics to U.S. Navy SEAL instructors and trains law enforcement officers through his highly acclaimed Terrorism Responder program. He has taught university-accredited workshops on violence management and has been involved in research on school safety since 1999. He is certified by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Dignitary Security/Protection and is a certified Police Officer Standards Training (POST) instructor on use of force and firearms. He has developed and implemented a broad spectrum of security programs, including innovative Crisis Management software solutions.

Prior to his arrival in the U.S. in the early 1980s, Mr. Stivi served in the Israeli Special Forces. He participated in missions in defense of the State of Israel and trained troops for combat in the areas of small unit infantry tactics, airborne operations and emergency medicine. Mr. Stivi has been studying martial arts since the age of 9 and is the U.S. Master Instructor of the Hisardut® Israel Survival System - the only system in the world specially developed to combat terrorism, and a two times World Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame inductee and the World Full Contact Survival Fighting Champion Titleholder (1994).

Mr. Stivi is a member of FBI InfraGard®, the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), and a Training Advisor for the International Association of Counter Terrorism and Security Professionals (IACSP). He is a Board of Advisor member of the Center for Unconventional Security Affairs (CUSA) at the University of California in Irvine and a member of Generation Next (GenNext). He serves as a Reserve Deputy with the Los Angeles Sheriff Department, Emergency Operations Bureau (EOB) and is an active Terrorism Liaison Officer (TLO).

Mr. Stivi has been featured on numerous network television stations, radio and films and in national print publications across North America including CNN, NBC, Fox News, WSJ and the L.A. Times.
